Embracing Sustainability

In alignment with its commitment to inclusivity, the NSS has long prioritised sustainability and environmental responsibility. Recognising the pressing need to reduce its ecological footprint, NSS has been actively engaged in implementing eco-friendly practices and waste reduction initiatives across all aspects of the event for many years.

From eliminating plastic water bottles to repurposing event florals, NSS has consistently taken decisive steps to minimise waste and promote sustainability. The intentional selection of locally sourced food and the donation of hotel amenities to local charities further emphasise NSS’s ongoing dedication to supporting the community while mitigating its environmental impact.

TPHE has also spearheaded various sustainability initiatives, including the implementation of digital signage, providing recyclable cups with water stations (eliminating water bottles), donating event flowers to aged care facilities post-event, utilising digital posters, offering reusable lanyards without date inclusion, an interactuce event app (which streamlined access to the agenda, speaker bios, sponsor information, venue maps, and all event details), and eliminating plastic pockets on name tags.

In addition to this, TPHE host all social events within walking distance eliminating the need for transfers and secure accommodation room blocks close by to the GCCEC.

The TPHE Effect (Event Successes)

TPHE worked closely with the Scientific Committee using clear and open dialogue to establish a conference footprint. The Committee elevated NSS’s brand and aligned with its inclusivity values.

The recent NSS event saw remarkable successes across various facets, reflecting meticulous planning and execution. Attendees praised the program’s calibre and diversity, while the well-paced marketing campaign reached a record audience.

By implementing a user-friendly registration process, the self-serve registration kiosks significantly reduced wait times for attendees. Through diligent budget management and comprehensive data collection throughout the planning process, we successfully executed the most well-received and successful national conference in NSS’s history.Sponsorship sales soared, with 80% of the exhibition floor sold within an hour for NSS 2024.

The exhibition hall, a reflection of the aesthetic industry, boasted quality and calibre. Amenities within the exhibition hall, including coffee machines, a juice bar and a tuckshop, were a great success.

Accommodation management accuracy and regular work-in-progress sessions underscored organisational proficiency. Separate rooms for sponsored workshops minimised program disruptions, and an extra setup day aided exhibitors.

Social events such as the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner were well attended. Elevated styling and branding efforts increased social media engagement, fostering an electric atmosphere.

NSS’ event showcased meticulous planning, strategic execution, and a commitment to excellence, leaving attendees eager for future Symposiums.
